What is your in-game username, and nickname? My name is Azeriel, my nickname is Az.

What position are you applying for? T-Helper

What server are you applying for to be a T-Helper on? Retronix

What time zone do you live and/or work in? GMT+1 or +2 depending on the month.

Can you use Discord? I can and I do.

How much money have you donated to the server? At least an Amethyst rank.

How long have you been on NRG?  I've been hovering around since the start.

How often are you online on NRG ? I like to visit the games I'm on every day.

Have you ever been jailed, muted, or banned? If so, why? Nope.

What reasons do you have for applying to become a staff member? I just know I will want to help the staff team as time passes and I acheive survival goals. This is the server I play on, and I like to keep the house warm and happy.

What can you contribute to the team that you can’t as a player? There always comes a time when I know "I could have done more if I had applied earlier" (with commands, or with helping to change something).

Do you get along with all players and staff? If not, why? Yes.

Have you ever been (or are currently) a staff on another server? I've been NRG staff on and off at the best of my abilities.

What do you think "being staff" means? Be polite, open-minded, remember to help the community and put the best for it and for the server before yourself first (but not too long, it's a team for that reason). Share knowledge and help. All of that goes with a lot of learning, which I always like.

Do you hold any other position on our server or another server (such as builder)? Not that I know of but my builds are yours to use.

If yes to above, how will you time manage so one doesn't affect the other? /

How to claim :

What's a claim : a claim is a zone that is absolutely protected from grief, or any form of curiosity you don't want. Players will not be able to open your chests, break a block, open a door or kill your animals without being given permission by you via a command. Yes, the grief in any way is off limits here, but outside a claim we'll only be able to bring back some stuff. Claiming is being sure no one will touch anything.

It has to be at least 5 blocks high and lenght, and can expand indefinitely. The limits are : your number of claimblocks (the total number of blocks you can claim) and the respect of others : always claim 50 blocks away from another player, and think about asking if they don't mind/are working on a project. You can also reduce the size of your claim. If someone told you you could claim right next to them, you can do it !

You can manage permissions in your claims, meaning you can allow access to certain things to some people, or other things to others, and also chose the precise zone of the claim you want them to be able to interact with (one room, one house... your choice.)

The Gold shovel will allow you to claim, and resize claim. A right click with a stick will tell you if the land is claimed or not, and whom it may belong to.

Let's explore :

How to get claimblocks :

. Buying some from the game (/buyclaimblocks [number], it costs 10 in game money to get one claimblock)

. Vote for the server (/vote, up to seven times, once per website linked in the /vote menu) and get claimblocks for voting.

. Get Keys to use on crates and win claimblocks (Voting gives you 7 voting keys which will give you access to the other keys. You can also buy them in the NRG donation store, for real money, or to players in exchange for ingame money.)

Commands :

/claim : claims a X wide square for you.

/unclaim : unclaims one claim. You need to be standing in it.

/abandonallclaims : get rid of all your claims at once.

/claimlist : find the coordinates of your claims, how many block they each take, and how many you have left to use.

/accesstrust [name] : Allows [name] to use doors, trapdoors, redstone mechanisms.

/containertrust [name] : Allows [name] to use doors, trapdoors, redstone mechanisms, barrels, chests, kill animals

/trust : Allows [name] to do as they wish within your claim.

/permissiontrust : Allows [name] to do as they wish within your claim, but also to give people the permissions they already have (access, container or trust).

/subdivideclaims : Puts you in the subdivision mode and allows you to make smaller claims within your claims.

/trustlist : Gives you a complete overview of whom has which permissions inside your full claim, or subclaim.

/basicclaims : go back from subdivision mode to normal mode.

How to claim :

Get a gold shovel. Craft it, or receive it by typing the command /kit peasant.

Get the gold shovel out.

Right click on a block, which will become a corner of your claim.

Run/fly/dive to the opposite (diagonal) corner of the place you wish to claim.

Right click again once you're at the corner of the place you want to claim.

Claim created !

You should now see lines of gold and glowstone : these are the limits of your claims.

If you could not claim, maybe :

You were too close to another claim and overlapping : resize, and remember about the 50 blocks rule.

You were out of claimblocks : resize, and get more claim blocks.

How to manage :

Resize :

Get your gold shovel out.

Right click on a corner (a glowstone block)

Go to the block you want the new corner to be at.

Right click again.

Tada !

If you could not resize, maybe :

You were too close to another claim and overlapping : resize, and remember about the 50 blocks rule.

You were out of claimblocks : resize, and get more claim blocks.

Permissions :

Use one of the commands at the beginning of this tutorial to set the permission range you want to give one person.

Subdivisions :

Get your gold shovel out.

Write the command : /subdivideclaims.

Right click on a corner of the subclaim you want to make.

Go to the opposite (diagonal) corner and right click again.

Subdivision created !

You should now see a line of white wool and iron.

If you couldn't, maybe :

You already had a subdivision there, and it's overlapping. Resize the subclaim.

It's at the limit of your claim, and overlaps free land. Resize until it's all in your primary claim.

An illustrated guide to claims over 2 years ago

What is your ingame username, and nickname? Azeriel / Az (pronounced "as")

What position are you applying for? T-Helper.

What server are you applying for to be a T-Helper on? Retronix !

What timezone do you live and/or work in? Paris, France time. So GMT+1 and GMT+2

Can you use Slack? Yes.

Can you use Discord? Yes.

How much money have you donated to the server? I don't know, but I donated.

How long have you been on NRG?  18 days. (But let's be honest I've been following the progress for a while, just not able to play. It's not out of the blue.)

How often are you online on NRG? Everyday.

Have you ever been jailed, muted, or banned? If so, why? No.

What reasons do you have for applying to become a staff member? I like help.

What can you contribute to the team that you can’t as a player? I can do more help with commands.

Do you get along with all players and staff? If not, why? Yes.

Have you ever been (or are currently) a staff on another server? Yes.

What do you think "being staff" means? It means that you are very tall and lean, and that you can be used to hit people but you shouldn't because it's not nice. Joke aside, being staff on a Minecraft server means being the guardians of the direction you want the server to go towards by being an example of what you want to create. In our case, it's a family friendly server where trusting and helping each other is important.

So, being staff means here being family friendly, trustworthy and helpful, and to catch and redirect the behaviors that would lead the community astray.

Do you hold any other position on our server or another server (such as builder)? I am a builder.

If yes to above, how will you time manage so one doesn't affect the other? The two, for me, go together. I'll just balance my time and be there to help where it's needed.

Little history :

I'm a player that loves to share just for sharing and to see people happy around me. I also like to test limits, so I'm generally walking the line (if it does NOT hurt anyone or the server) and I recognize people doing what I do very easily.

I'm also used to see people try to manipulate me / manipulate others around. Fooling me is very possible, but not for very long.

I like protecting people and I am not afraid to put a stop to something by taking action or to demand action from higher ups. I also always double check to be sure the warning or sanction is not given unless needed.

I do believe what I say and will defend it, but I am also used to (try to) see the other person's side and I'm usually open to agree to disagree. Rules are not opinions, though, and I follow them to a T.

I'm loyal, mindful, respectful and kind. Not saying that it works out wonderfully all the time, but I do try my best to keep those four in check. Mind that I can get angry in case of injustice, harassment, people being hurt by talking in their back or stuff like this. If someone behaves in a mean or hurtful way, they can be sure I'll say something about that someday.

Most of all things, I'm here to play and have fun. I want others to have as much fun. Az out.
